We got enough NEXO heroes reviews, so let's look at bad guys. Today we present 271605 Flame thrower — third soldier of enemy masses. LEGO thinks that he is so miserable, that set is left unnamed.
Fire soldier, he likes gasoline, matches, and i think he is a fan of Rammstein (definitely a fan of Rammstein). May be he is even an Indian - red skin, mohawk haircut, low-tech weapons. Nexo Universe history seems to be pretty complicated, again some high-tech newcomers are offending low-tech red skins.
There are two images on this promo cover: one is big, beautiful, and full of lies, another small and shows reality. Also we got Limited edition label, again.
Today package is opened, so you can see, that you got another image under the seal. Scale hint has crossbow on it (3 PIECES!!!). All the rest is pretty the same. There is nothing new.
A small and accurate pile of pieces, some of them already look interesting.
And now we go to the main part (and almost the only one) of our show, the MINIFIGURE. Blood thirsty lava monster face, holes instead of eyes, strange eye-brows. Torso and legs have prints on them. Legs are ordinary for Nexo Knights Lava Monsters. If you have any set from Nexo Knights Season 1 or 2 with monsters, you definitely have this legs. Head and torso also are ordinary. Generally this torso appears at Ash Attacker minifigures, not flame thrower ones. Most interesting here is mohawk.
There is a print on head back side. And suddenly it's not a face. I think LEGO tried to show lava monster skin texture with that. LEGO, why you haven't printed this around all head piece? Legs have no print on their back.
The most noticeable part of Flame Thrower, is rubber mohawk hair piece. As most interesting accessories it is appeared in the Collectable Minifigures Series. And now black mohawk is most widely spread variations of lego mohawk. Flame throwers is part of enemy crowds, so they appear in many sets.
Now i will make a side-view shot, so you get all details of this wonderful hair piece. Again, LEGO you should printed the skin texture around head sides, it looks strange and empty there.
Nexo Knights, as real heroes, use some high-tech exo-suits, unfortunately evil ones can't use these machinery, so they need to go to gym, exercise and have proper nutrition, to be able to carry such amount of weaponry with them.
There is a an arrow quiver on the guys back. He has got a big and shooting crossbow (in new sets everything should shoot, even City sets) and big axe (it's a big battle axe). Crossbow shoots with flame balls (transparent round plate in fact, so don't be scared to give it to children), so i don't understand why does he need a classic lego arrow quiver.
There are two flame balls in this sets. So second one can be called Extra. On the image from official LEGO site we can see that there should be round transparent tile 1x1 instead of transparent plate. But it seems that LEGO have thought that it is pretty rare, to put it in promo.
Minifigure looks better with battle axe. As any head accessory, arrow quiver make minifigure a little higher.
Generally LEGO axes are smaller imo.
And now about the crossbow. Crossbow with Mini Blaster / Shooter is it base, it is pretty new part that appeared in 2016 year sets. (In fact there was one 2015 set to get it - 75105.) It appeared in many themes starting with Friends and ending in Star Wars. (Every LEGO theme should have shooters seems to be new LEGO postulate). As all "shooters" it works on light plastic deformation. Although it is hard to target precisely with it.
After seeing the first images of Nexo Knights theme, i liked an enemy from 70318. Of course with naked torso minifigure would look more demoniac, but it also pretty good in armour. It is hard to use this minifigure in general MOCs, it's skin is red, but it will be hard to pretend that he is a red Indian. So it has eternal role of demons, and Rammstein fan :)
In fact this set is simplified part of 70318. I like this minifigure, it is interesting. But i think that i will change head for something more adequate for MOCs. ;)
